My Approach

How I think about building software. The TLDR: use AI to move fast, but don't let it do your thinking for you.

Principle 1

AI is Here to Stay

This isn't a fad. AI tools are fundamentally changing how software gets built. I've been using them since GPT-2 days at Cogo Labs, and now they're central to everything I do. Fighting it is pointless - the question is how to use it well.

Principle 2

Live and Breathe with AI

Masayoshi Son says young people should "live and breathe" with AI to understand its possibilities and limitations. I agree. I've spent years figuring out what these tools can and can't do, and that knowledge lets me ship faster without sacrificing quality.

Principle 3

The Human Element Matters More

As AI handles more implementation details, the uniquely human skills become more valuable: vision, taste, judgment, empathy. Knowing what to build matters more than ever. AI is a tool, not a replacement for thinking.

Principle 4

Speed is a Feature

I can compress weeks into days. That's not about cutting corners - it's about eliminating busywork and focusing human creativity where it matters. You get to test ideas faster, iterate quicker, and ship sooner.

“The goal isn't to write the most code. It's to solve the problem.”
